I’m not sure I understand why someone who has had covid would need the vaccine? My understanding is the body has now natural immunity that the vaccine produces by injection. I have been following you since the beginning and appreciate your honesty amidst all the misinformation but like the disparaging comments some post on this blog, is it necessary to use foul language to get a point across? Trust me, I know that when you work in a hospital setting, you hear the foul language but it isn’t necessary in a public discussion where we are try to disseminate all the information. Thank you for all you do Dr Smith.
Regarding the first question, it isn't the theory of protective immunity after natural infection that is important. It’s the data - it's always the data. The data from many centers from different countries show that people, who develop antibodies after infection, have a very low rate of re-infection. Their reinfection rate is much lower than the infection rate in age-sex matched-controls, who have never been infected.
Regarding second question, is it necessary to use foul language to get my point across, I will answer with an example proving the answer - It absolutely fucking is. That's half a joke and half a demonstration of the power of foul language. I am not sure which language or even which post this criticism refers to, as the none of the recent has cuss words in it. But, using foul language is helpful is two ways - lightening up a post and emphasizing a point. Even the anticipation of foul language can be used to create interest.
George Carlin, who's IQ was probably near 200 or something, used foul language very effectively, though he didn't need to. Richard Prior didn't need to either, but always did. Comedians use foul language because it makes the jokes funnier.
Thoughtful coaches intentionally use foul language in certain situations only. For US sports fans, there are a few famous speeches. The most famous, perhaps, given by Herb Brooks, a master of psychology and of speech, was not the last one he gave to this team. A couple of days after he gave the "you were born for to be hockey players" speech, Herb spoke to his team as a coach for the last time at Lake Placid and he ended thusly -
“If you lose this game you will take it with you to your fucking graves." As he started to leave the locker room, he stopped, turned around and added, "Your fucking graves." https://www.campanastan.net/2010/02/miracle.html
Replace "Your fucking graves" with "Your graves". It just doesn't have the same impact. Our boys, of course, responded, came from behind again, and kicked Finland’s as...derriere.
Regarding anticipation, my Irish-American grandmother taught all 5 of us the limerick below. A few years later, the older four had to listen to the youngest, night after night, at dinner, repeat it. When I first learned it, I thought how clever. By the 50-60th time I heard, I have different, strong feelings about it.
Down by the meadow where the grass grows green,
a bullfrog sat on a sewing machine.
The sewing machine, it went so fast,
it put 6 stitches in the bullfrog’s…
Now, don’t be mistaken
Don’t be alarmed,
It put 6 stitches in the bullfrog’s arm.
Finally, if the posts offend you, then don’t read them. I provide this service because people keep asking me questions. I don’t write for enjoyment. The impact of this blog is small, and I only started doing them again because of requests. Once the readership drops, I will stop permanently. I am sure there plenty of sources that never swear, including swearing to tell the truth.
Several months ago, I stupidly didn’t buy a stock in a vaccine company because I wanted my opinions that appear on this blog or elsewhere to be unaffected by possible personal gain. I swear that’s the fucking truth.

When I want my men to remember something important, to really make it stick, I give it to them double dirty. It may not sound nice to some bunch of little old ladies at an afternoon tea party, but it helps my soldiers to remember. You can’t run an army without profanity; and it has to be eloquent profanity.
